Join us on Wednesdays during Lent for Lenten Worship, Soup, Supper, & Study! We will begin with Stations of the Cross at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. At 6:30 p.m. Adventers will convene in the Parish Hall for soup and Texas Toast and fun fellowship. Finally, at 7:00 p.m. as choir members head off to practice, Brian† will lead us in a discussion of Christ in culture. One of the complaints of Adventers is that they do not know how to begin conversations with friends, family, coworkers, and others when it comes to talking about faith. In many of the instances, the openings are right in front of us. Brian† will help us explore some of the popular culture avenues available to us today. The goal is not to turn any of us into professional street corner evangelists, but to help us have ears to hear and eyes to see conversations and struggles taking place before us and use them to interest our friends in our Lord’s saving grace. Brian† intends to use NBC’s hit comedy The Good Place, Starz’ adaptation of Neil Gaimann’s American Gods, and CBS’s comedy-drama God Friended Me as launch points in our discussions, though he is always open to other ideas. Please join us for some laughter and serious thought and how we might be better heralds in the world around us.
Even if you can only attend a portion of our Wednesday evening (our worship, our meal, or our study), join us! You need not commit to the entire evening!
